All our body butters are allergy AND face-friendly. They're for your entire bod + face. Remember: just a little goes a long way, especially on your face. If you're worried about a reaction, feel free to get your toes wet with our body butter trial samples and body oil trial samples.
How is your product different from other "all-natural" skincare products out there?
First off, the term "natural" is unregulated by the FDA. Most "all-natural" skincare products aren't truly "natural." Even those made with natural ingredients aren't organic, meaning they aren't the best quality. Or they contain potentially inflammatory natural ingredients, like oats, corn, and soy, which are commonly genetically modified. We went to great lengths to go above and beyond delivering another typical "all-natural" skincare product, from ingredients to packaging. We have personally met all our sourcers and have verified our ingredients come from legitimate, trustworthy places. Drifter Organics is free of any inflammatory ingredients. Our products are certified organic by Oregon Tilth, certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny, plant-based, vegan, gluten/corn/soy/paraben-free, and non-GMO. They are made in an organic and gluten-free facility. Developing a product with pure, organic ingredients is our top priority. Absolutely no filler ingredients here! In a world full of chemicals, we promise you cannot get any more natural than this.
What is the full list of ingredients for all your products?
The full list of ingredients can be found at the bottom of each individual product page.
Oh no! My body butter is grainy/soft/hard! Is there something wrong with it?
Please keep in mind the products you are buying are handmade and 100% natural so variations—change in color, texture, etc.—from batch to batch may occur. With that being said, the consistency of our products will change with the climate. They may be harder in cooler temperatures and softer in warmer temperatures. Our products may also need to be refrigerated in warmer temperatures to keep consistency. The graininess that might occur is called crystallization and occurs in the shea butter in unstable weather conditions—warm vs. cool. This can result from the change in temperature from night and day. When applied, the warmth from your body will melt the crystals. The product is perfectly fine and safe to use. :) To reliquify, place the jar in warm water.
I have a ton of allergies. Are your products safe for those with allergies?
Drifter Organics is free of any inflammatory ingredients. Our products are certified organic by Oregon Tilth, certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny, plant-based, vegan, gluten/corn/soy/paraben-free, and non-GMO. They do no come into contact with non-organic organisms/animal products/gluten/corn/soy/parabens/GMOs during production. Since they were born out of Micaela's (co-founder) lifelong autoimmune disorders, our mission is to ensure our products contain no ingredient(s) that could be irritating under normal circumstances.
That doesn't mean you can't have an allergy to an ingredient in our products! Please read the ingredient list (located at the bottom of each product page) before making your purchase. DO NOT purchase and use any of our products if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. While allergies to certain foods do not always translate the same way in topical skincare products (i.e. some with nut allergies are able to use nut-derived topical oils without reaction), if you have any concerns, please consult a health care provider first. We are not doctors! We offer body butter sample sizes and body oil sample sizes to try out if you'd like to try a skin patch test under medical supervision. This will determine if you have any reaction. If a reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately. You know your body best! What works for some may not work for you. Do not use our products without proper research and medical supervision. Listen to your body and be safe.
Are your products safe for pregnant and nursing women?
We strongly recommend pregnant and nursing women see their health care provider before using any new skincare products, including ours. This goes for anyone else with health issues and/or on medication: It's always best to consult with your doctor when introducing new skincare products. It's better to take extra precautions and be safe. You heard it from us first, folks.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Given the ingredients we use, the shelf life of our products should be ~12 months. We plan on getting formal shelf life testing soon. Our products are light sensitive. To best preserve freshness, store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
